Sunday bloody sunday

Again Sunday came by, which means long distance running club. Today 18 k ... in snow! I can tell you, 18k is quite a long trip, I started on team 10 (running 5.40min/km) as usual, It was a tough run but I made it... even though I must say it was not easy.
I'd dressed up for -5C ... but when we started it was 1C so I had way to much clothes on!

My new beanie did a good job, but because of the heat, it was totally wet, when we'd reach the finish-line.

Anyway, I'm glad I made it. and now I can spend the rest of the day in the couch.

Tomorrow another working week starts. YAY

Brrrrr..... Winter time!

Oh oh.. getting mentally ready for the 18k tomorrow, I haven't been running for a week, and it's snowing, it's below freezing point even in daytime, so plan for today is-> buy a beanie or something else which will rescue my ears from freezing off.

it's said that you loose 60% of your body heat through  the head.. which in my case would be a non negligible part of the global warming.

Berlin, Berlin (and Berlin again)

This week I've been in Berlin at some seminars on mechanical components in Wind Turbines. of course I did bring my running stuff, cannot be away that many days without running, right?
So, did I use it? Nope! but instead my left foot gave birth to a nicely looking ans well grown nail. after one night and one day in pain, it broke through the skin, and there it was. Wuuhuu.. so now I'm having 9 nice looking toe nails.
Also in Berlin I was able to buy some gel-pouches containing caffeine which can not be sold in Denmark, so after my seminar I Packed my stuff and went to the airport, where they after 2 hours delay cancelled my flight because of a snowstorm in DK.

By the way I don't know if I'm going to be friends with this Gel but it's still half price of gel in DK, so it's worth the try...

They were able to rebook me and my gel-pouches for a flight the next day, And still then I did not run...

...Let's see if I'm going to survive the 18 k on Sunday!  (in snow and really cold weather conditions)

First run with the pink compression socks

Okay, so how was it.. did the fabulous pink (and very expensive) socks work? -it's hard to tell, it the range I'm running  it really makes a difference if it's a good day or not. Sometimes I just don't feel like running, other times my legs just seems like they have decided not to work 100% that day.
-Any way, I felt good about the run today, the sock were very comfortable, but it seemed like my legs had decided not to cooperate. I felt that the run was very slow, but somehow it wasn't, I was a bit faster then my average speed.

So can I blame the socks?
I don't know, but one thing is for sure, the socks were warmer than my usual socks! And after all I was faster....!

About this blog.. what is this blog about?

So I'm an amateur photographer.. I'm a Nikon-user, seems like religion if you'd choose Nikon, Canon or Pentax. I guess at least Nikon and Canon are same, same but different.
-And you will most likely stick with the brand you'd start out using. I'm stuck with Nikon.

Besides that I like running... or do I? Anyway a friend convinced me to do Copenhagen Marathon may 2011 so here we go.
I must say that after the first 3 months, I started or rather stopped hating running. After that I had a period with runners knee, but now, after almost 5 months I in fact started to enjoy my trips.

I'm a gadget-freak as well on the photo-side as on the running-side. Today's purchase was a pair of pink compression socks and tomorrow I'm running 15k, so lets see how they (meaning me wearing them) perform.

 

 Okay I still owe you an explonation on the pink choice: the other possibilities where black or white.

-My legs are bright white them self, so that's a no go, while my tights are black, also a boring combination. So, Pink it is!
